Turtle Island: Kiti + Jean is an attempt at illumination. An introduction to Chicago’s history and stories
that need to be told and examined, including
the Potawatomi, Black Panthers, Nation of Islam,
H.H. Holmes, Leopold and Loeb, and others,
all linked together in Chicago’s identity.
Utilizing the graphic novel format,
blues, jazz, house, and hip-hop aesthetics to bring forth and reimagine what was through the prism
of what might come.
